At long last, SCTV is on the air... or at least on DVD! While it never reached the ratings heights or pop culture cachet of Saturday Night Live, SCTV did garner critical buzz and a devoted cult following. As with the Python boys, the ensemble members, and the characters they created to populate the fictional Melonville TV network, are revered in hipper comedy circles. In this respect, SCTV is Letterman to SNL's Leno. This essential five-disc set collects the first nine episodes of the series' Network 90 incarnation, which brightened NBC's Friday late-night lineup in 1981. While original cast member Harold Ramis had since left the show, and Martin Short would join the following year, John Candy, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Rick Moranis, Catherine O'Hara, and Dave Thomas were SCTV's definitive ensemble (SNL-bound Robin Duke and Tony Rosato, we hardly knew ye). These inaugural episodes are comprised mostly of "the golden classics" (so dubbed by Flahrety's wheelchair-bound station manager Guy Caballero) linked by some new material. Included are such series benchmarks as "The Great White North" segments, featuring Moranis and Thomas as the stereotypically Canadian, parka-wearing, beer-swilling McKenzie brothers; "Play It Again, Bob," starring Moranis as Woody Allen and Thomas as Bob Hope; the ill-fated made-for-SCTV "Polynesiantown" starring Candy's Johnny LaRue; "The Sammy Maudlin Show," starring Joe Flahrety as the most sincerely insincere talk show host, with O'Hara as Lola "I want to bear your children" Heatherton, and "Indira," with Andrea Martin in her signature Evita spoof.

When Levy's comedian Bobby Bittman arrives on a talk show, he brings "bloopers" from his congressional testimony. And you don't need to have seen The Oscar to appreciate The Nobel, but it certainly helps. The price is steep, but don't be a hoser. This is the comedy release of the year. Mystery Science Theater 3000's verbal brawls with the much-maligned Japanese monster Gamera--you know, the flying turtle--are included in this limited-edition boxed set, which buffets the riffing with some impressive and informative extras. The Gamera films were a staple of MST3K from its humble beginnings as Minneapolis UHF programming, and when the Satellite of Love moved to Comedy Central in the early '90s, the American re-edits released by distributor Sandy Frank were among the show's most popular episodes. All five of the MST3K Gamera episodes, culled from the show's third season in 1991 and featuring series creator Joel Hodgson alongside robots Tom Servo and Crow, are included in the set, as are some of the show's most memorable skits: in Gamera, Tom croons a heartfelt tribute to the film's lost pet, Tibby the Turtle, and head writer/future host Mike Nelson turns up as the giant monster himself to reveal the true nature of his relationship with boy hero Kenny, while Gamera vs. Gaos features the cast's aborted presentation of their opera "Gameradammerung," and Gamera vs. Guiron and Gamera vs. Zigra offer the SOL's rousing "Gamera Song" and several berserk variations. As seen on MTVs Rob Dyrdeks Fantasy Factory, Gymkhana 2.1 takes the epic cinematography and driving from DC Co-Founder and Rally Team Member Ken Block that youve come to expect from the Gymkhana videos and mixes in Rob Dyrdek in his comical and somewhat powerful miniature version of Blocks rally car. The two, who have worked together and been good friends since Dyrdek joined the DC skate team in 1995, decided to get the shifter car built and film the clip when Dyrdek made an appearance in the Gymkhana TWO video earlier this year. A custom mold was made to build the shifter car nearly identical to Kens Subaru WRX STI (except for the head-out-the-roof part). The team at Vermont SportsCar wrapped the shifter in the same graphics as Blocks competition rally car, and a custom fireproof, FIA certified driving suit just like Blocks was even made for Dyrdek. The Gymkhana 2.1 video features all the near run-overs, drifting, racing and shenanigans that occur when two unique individuals like Dyrdek and Block hit the tarmac in polar-opposite-sized whips. UPDATE: I switched to the new LG Optimus V and while the android 2.2 system is great, the ON SCREEN KEYBOARD SUCKS!!! I can't even explain how badly it sucks... what we need is an ANDROID with a REAL keyboard... I hate the on screen keyboard and it SO slows me down with errors. Took me a little while to get this up but now that I have had this phone for about 3 months I can tell you it is THE BEST DEAL currently in a phone. Some people will whine that it is not a ''true' smart phone but I had the 'true' smart phone the Blackberry Curve 8530 and found it to be awful compared to this the ln510 (LG Rumor Touch). The blackberry curve has a tiny lower resolution screen with no touch, and its full qwerty keyword is very crammed together making it hard to type and use, and worst of all, it's TWICE the cost and then costs an extra a month to use. Virgin mobile plans are as follows: - unlimited 35 internet / web /text / 300 min talk - unlimited 35 internet / web /text / 1200 min talk - unlimited everything... internet, web, text, pics and vifdeo emails and minutes Al plans have excellent coverage nationwide. I far preferred this phone to the blackberry curve. The rumor touch has a britghter higher resolution (400 x 240) widescreen that is touch sensitive, and it has a big flip out full qwerty keyboard which is a must for me. I don't like typing on screen keyboards, even though it has that too, I only use it to dial some phone #s. Really, this is almost like a mini ...
